Plot summary: The Diclonius, a mutant homo sapiens, is rumored to be chosen by God to eventually bring upon the distruction of mankind. They have two horns on their heads and posses a sixth sense that gives them telekinetic powerful abilities. Because of the threat they present, humans have captured and isolated them in laboratories where they perform tests on them. Lucy, a young and psychotic Diclonius, breaks free and brutally murders most of the guards in the lab, and gets shot in the head when she nearly escapes. But she survives and drifts to a beach, where she is found by two teenagers, Kouta and Yuka. Because she lost her memories, and is not able to speak, she is named "Nyuu" and the two teenagers take her into their home. But, Lucy is still being chased by the government and has yet enemies and flashes of her old self...
