Take a look at the new Shrek Forever After
November 26, 2009
If you'll go see Avatar next month on the 18th, you might get a trailer preview of the latest and greatest Shrek Forever After. This movie will be the last of the Shrek series, and the first one in 3-D steamy action. The movie will appear in May, next year.
Bill Damaschke, head of creative production at DreamWorks, assures fans that “All that was loved about Shrek in the first film is brought to the final film”. Meaning that Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy and Cameron Diaz will play the same smelly ogre, annoying donkey and down-to-earth princess all over again.
This unusual fairy tale, that kids and grown ups alike have enjoyed, will come to an end in this forth installment. The plot of the story will be a challenging one for the big sensitive ogre Shrek. After saving a princess, getting married, and fathering three nasty little ogres, Shrek is feeling domesticated. Depressed and scared for losing “his roar”, the thing that scared smaller life beings around him for miles around, he makes a pact with the devil, or in this case, Rumpelstiltskin.
The deal goes wrong and now Shrek has to deal with how life would be if wouldn't be in it. Very Freudian. In this world, Donkey is working in the cart-pulling business, fat and lazy Puss in Boots has no pride left, and the devilish Rumpelstiltskin rules the kingdom of Far Far Away.
New characters will be included in the last Shrek and they sure sound funny. Kathy Griffin and Kristin Schaal, comedians known from Flight of the Conchords, are witched on the hunt for ogres. The good side is backed up by an underground resistance group led by Jon Hamm of Mad Men.
With so many new obstacles, will Shrek get his happily forever after? Director Mike Mitchell says “I hate to give away the ending, but yes.”
