Avatar soars high in the sky
January 6, 2010
James Cameron is a man of landmarks and so is his latest creation, Avatar, a movie that seems more than likely to surpass an all-time legend, Titanic.
Avatar has already passed the absurd amount of $1 billion worldwide in gross income, and the last weekend closing has brought the 20th Century Fox company a total of approx $350 million in US only. The marketing strategies employed and the entire period of intense advertisement prior to the movie's release have certainly paid off. Plus, the whole IMAX and 3D experience was a big plus for the movie, which Titanic didn't and couldn't have had at it's time, setting new records worldwide of $66.4 million income from just IMAX theaters.
So if you haven't seen Avatar yet at your local multiplex, be sure to watch it as the movie might remain in history as 2009's best motion picture and as a world record breaker.
