Netflix streams on Wii

January 14, 2010

Following Microsoft Xbox's partnership with Netflix, so is Nintendo's Wii going to stream movies from the Netflix database, to all Wii users who are, at the same time, Netflix subscribers.

The partnership will start this spring, according to an announcement made this Wednesday. Wii owners will need just a special disc for the console, that will allow them instant access to the Netflix network. The Netflix membership plans start at just $8.99 per month.

Right now, the Nintendo Wii is the last member to come to the party of online media streaming through third party devices, first members to arrive being Sony's PS3 and Microsoft's Xbox 360.
