BAFTA Awards for 2010!
February 22, 2010
Who would have thought that Avatar would miss out rather big on the Orange British Academy Film Awards? Kathryn Bigelow's “The Hurt Locker” got a lot of recognition and prizes, including the ones for Best Director and Best Film. This is quite a blow for her ex-husband James Cameron, but the upcoming Oscars may still hold a lot of surprises. Especially since the US counterparts had a higher affinity for CGI blockbusters, and a big part of Avatar's gross profit came from the US one. Meanwhile, Carey Mulligan won the BAFTA award for Best Actress, a well deserved award for her part in An Education, while Sandra Bullock didn't even get a nomination for her role in The Blind Side. Fair or not? Winners are in orange.
