Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

Developer: Infinity Ward
Publisher: Activision / Square Enix (Japan)
Release date: November 10, 2009
Genre: First-person shooter
Modes: Single-player, cooperative and multiplayer (online, LAN)

Plot:
The second part of Modern Warfare takes place after several years since the ending of Call of Duty 4. Led by Vladimir Makarov, the radical Russian ultranationalist organization has returned in the spotlight. Makarov is a former associate of Imran Zakhaev, that has advertised his partner's death as an act of bravery in order to draw attention and support for his cause, thus managing to build a significant power base in Russia. Fearing Makarov's spreading influence, the global community has put together Task Force 141 that is supposed to counter the threat posed by the ultranationalist resurgents.

In the single-player campaign mode, users will impersonate Sergeant Gary “Roach” Sanderson, who is a young member of the elite, multinational commando unit Task Force 141. The game also includes the player character from Call of Duty 4, Sergeant “Soap” MacTavish, who is now a non-playable character, promoted to captain in the Special Air Service. He is the head of the Task Force and the superior officer for Sanderson. The team has a third member entitled simply Ghost, which is a mysterious character who conceals his face with a skull-imprinted military mask.
