The new project Natal from Microsoft
June 3, 2009
As a new competitor for Nintendo Wii, the project Natal from Microsoft, revealed at this June's E3 in Los Angeles, is a full-body, motion-sensitive controller that can throw out the window all of Wii's popularity.
Project Natal is a TV-mounted camera/microphone that can sense motion, three-dimensional movement, and even sound. As such, it's obvious how it demands a place in the same category as the remote sensors from the Nintendo Wii, as it is a controller without controllers, requiring nothing but movement, like the iPhone games.
So, how about standing in front of your TV and kickboxing with no gloves on? This Microsoft user will have nothing on him, but his own clothes...or not, if you prefer...
One of the official suporters of the new Natal was none other than Steven Spielberg, and word has it that Natal will be available on all versions of Xbox any time now.
