From iPad to Archipod. (The coconut iPod)
February 1, 2010
Well then, it seems like the beginning of 2010 is a marvelous time to release all sorts of gadgets and contraptions the human imagination can conceive. Right now, we have tablet PCs on which you can scribble and read and surf the web, 3D television sets, and smartphones that can read your mind. (Not really the last part). The last gadget to appear, that we could think of at this point, would be a coconut shaped giant pod for a single-person home office. But here it is.
The Archipod (pronounced ark-ee-pod, as the original site says) is a 3m in diameter outdoor pod that can be placed in back gardens and holds an interior stress-free office. Stress-free from outside noises, but not from your workload. It's outer shell consists of cedar tiles placed in a roof-y kind of style, while the interior is a clear brisk white. As gizmodo has remarked, it looks pretty much like a coconut. So if you are from the blessed few that can work from home, and have some money to spend, the archipod is the right solution for every user who wants that extra Star Trek feel to their lives.
While it doesn't support the following features, wouldn't it be nice if you could plug your iPod directly into the archipod? Then you could enjoy your favorite music in this sphere, through built-in system surround speakers. And the interior lighting to be voice activated?
