Skype for Symbian: the application which makes the difference!
March 3, 2010
We are one step closer to cheaper, unlimited and unrestricted phone calls, all thanks to the newest Skype application developed for the Symbian platform. Skype for Symbian is a free application which enables users to use their smartphones to receive and give calls using the Skype service via a Wi-Fi or 3G / GPRS / EDGE connection. This translates into free Skype-to-Skype phone calls and messages, easy photo and video sharing, and permanent contact with friends and family.
Said to run on smartphones which have installed the latest version of the Symbian OS, Skype for Symbian app is also available for all Nokia users over the OviStore. Hopefully, in the near future other brands (next on the list is Sony Ericsson) will adopt this application.
This is an important threshold for all mobile phone users, and also for the major providers, which will definitely have something to say about it.
