Browse Popular Science archives online for free!

March 10, 2010

PopSci, the online branch of the Popular Science magazine has provided a great gift for gadget and science fans alike, by scanning its entire archives comprising 137 years of editorial activity and has published it online for anyone to access – completely free! The issues published are fully dedicated to their original counterparts, and even include their original advertisements.

The archive has been possible through a Google Books partnership. The main page of the database provides a search field that takes you back in time, so you don't really get to browse through issues per se, but once you are on a page in an issue, you can get to the table of contents where everything is indexed and hyperlinked so you can easily read any issue from cover to cover. Here is the link, and have fun reading!
