Nook Color: Techs & Specs

This week in NYC, at the Barnes & Noble event, the company unveiled their newest e-reader: Nook Color. This colorful e-reader is in fact the latest 7-inch Android tablet. With a fresh new design and compatible with third party applications, this tablet/e-reader is the latest buzz on the market. So let's see what it can do:

  • In terms of hardware Nook Color has a “VividView™” full-color LCD touchscreen (courtesy of LG), featuring a resolution of 1024x600
  • It comes with 8 GB of internal memory, + a microSD slot
  • The weight is only 15.8 ounces
  • It has a rechargeable battery which can last up to 8 hours
  • Features built-in Wi-Fi and USB connectivity.
  • Nook Color can also be used as both an audio player and video player, being compatible with the following formats: MP3, AAC, MP4.
  • Is compatible with the following file types: EPUB, PDF, XLS, DOC, PPT, PPS, TXT, DOCM, XLSM, PPTM, PPSX, PPSM, DOCX, XLX, PPTX , JPG, GIF, PNG, BMP

If you wonder about the price, Nook Color is sold for $249 and is expected to be shipped starting November 19. For sure I'll find a spot for Nook Color on my wish list this Christmas, what about you?
