The story unfolds with Ben Campbell (Jim Sturgess), who as a shy but brilliant M.I.T. Student gets involved with super math teach' genius Micky Rosa's (Kevin Spacey) team of gifted students who in their "extra curricular" activities have included breaking blackjack winning records.
By setting up, through the means and resources of their talented and experienced (as the movie later reveals) teacher, the group goes through a path of self-distruction, sucked in by the glamour and taste of victory, Vegas and money. Add in a little sex appeal from fellow teammate Jill Taylor (Kate Bosworth) and Ben has the perfect recipe for ruining his bright student future. Or is he smarter than that?
Trivia fact: the movie is based on real facts, the true story of some of the brightest young minds of U.S. ripping Vegas casinos of millions of dollars.
