Released September, this year, the new iPod Nano Chromatic turned quite a few heads around thanks to its funky look and state-of-the-art features. Here's what the new iPod Nano Chromatic brings in new for the media lover:

The Music Genius

If you have a few special songs you listen to over and over again, and want to hear other songs but in the same genre and mood as the previous ones, then the Genius feature will search through your entire music library and find those songs that match your favourite ones, creating a new Genius Playlist for your own tastes. Pretty much like a personal DJ, knowing what your listening to in your head.

Cover Flow

This feature enables the user to flip through album art and playlists as easily and efficient as through a real live shelf full of compact discs. Just press and hold the Center button to browse by album or artist and when you find the desired song, press the Center button to add it to the on-the-go playlist. The Cover Flow feature can fully be used, by tilting or turning the iPod Nano on one side, so to listen, watch and play by experiencing the horizontal view of the screen. The vertical display turns into a wide-view that imitates the full view of a normal TV screen. And this is done just by turning the iPod phisically!

Shake to shuffle

Probably the grooviest thing about the new iPod Nano Chromatic is the built in function that allows its user to shake in order to skip tracks. Simply, give the iPod 4th Generation a shake and it will shuffle through the playlist. Beware: may cause shake addiction.
This was made possible through a built in accelerometer, that now has special games designed for it. Games that make you shake, tilt, turn the iPod in a real physical experience user-iPod. Such games react to the iPod movements, so they may become pretty addictive too. Just watch out for the Maze!

Wide screen on tiny gadget

Photo displaying can be made in portrait view, vertically, or in landscape view, horizontally. The last position gives the photos a proper aspect ratio, since most photo cameras take pictures for a wide screen layout. The 4th Generation iPod screen boast a 320 by 240 resolution display on a 2 inch widescreen that is also perfect for watching movies, TV shows and videos.
